the Model United Nations is over

Unfortunately, the Model United Nations is over, and this wonderful experience will remain a fantastic memory in the minds of those who took part as  delegates or staff. The Model United Nations went deep in our hearts, for these 3 days. ModelUnited Nations have become a daily routine.Although the suit and dresses were not something we used to wear,at the end we felt comfortable with it! Αnyway we wait for the second platon school Model United Nations to take place again and who knows ...maybe the staff can participate as delegates  ..!!!!!!!

Invitation to MUN conference in February 2011

PLATON-MUN
Dear Sir/Madam,

We would like to invite you to our first Model United Nations Conference to be held at our School on February 18th, 19th, 20th, 2011. We would be delighted to have you participate in this memorable event during which delegates will have the opportunity to discuss global issues and propose solutions to problems which concern us all. Amongst our participants there will be delegates from schools abroad as well as a number of schools from Greece. This conference is for students at the secondary level, (ages 14 - 18 ) whether they have previously participated in conferences or this is to be their first experience. Delegations are limited to a maximum of 7 members, though any school is welcome to apply for two or three delegations. Those wishing to apply for any chair position will be required to fill out a separate application form available on our site.

Delegates are to prepare resolutions on each of the assigned issues and Ambassadors are required to deliver a one-minute speech. Please remember that plagiarism with resolutions in mind is highly frowned upon. We encourage delegates to view research on the various issues as a means to broaden your knowledge. As English is the lingua franca, strict adherence to this language is imperative. Formal dress code is to be adhered to as well as proper address during debates. The conference aims to constitute a learning experience both to facilitate language fluency in English and sensitize students to global issues.

The participation fee is 70 euros per delegate/advisor. Details concerning the method of payment and deadline will be available on our school website: http://www.platon.gr
The Registration deadline is the first of September, 2010. Extended deadline: Monday, January 10th, 2011 Fees due November first 2010
Please contact us regarding any further information you might need. We look forward to making our conference a success with your valuable participation.

Certificates of Participation will be issued to schools, delegates, and advisors.

Thank you,
Organizing Committee
Georgina Theoharopoulou, Vassia Papadopoulou
